Lt Gen. Soni to take over as Southern Command GOC-in-C

Lt Gen. D R Soni will take over as GOC-in-C of the Army's Southern Command based in Pune, official sources said today.
He succeeds Lt Gen. P M Hariz, whose services are coming to an end after a distinguished career in the Army for over 39 years.
Lt Gen. Soni is currently serving as GOC-in-C of the Army's Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla. He was commissioned in the central India Horse Cavalry regiment in 1979.
