M&M launches small tractor JIVO priced up to Rs 4.05 lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra today launched a new small four-wheel drive tractor 'JIVO' priced between Rs 3.90 lakh and Rs 4.05 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra).
The tractor is available in the four-wheel drive version with engine power of 24 horse power. With its launch, Mahindra enters the growing segment of horticulture and row crop farming, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement.
"Mahindra JIVO has been designed keeping in mind the latent needs of this specialised farming segment and is an ideal choice for the farmers owing to its narrow and compact build and high power," it added.
It will be sold in the Maharashtra and Gujarat from April 25, 2017 and will shortly be available in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, M&M said.

Speaking at the Mahindra JIVO launch, M&M Managing Director Pawan Goenka said the company has been working on redefining the face of farming in the future through innovation and technology.
"The launch of the JIVO platform today is another significant step in that direction," he said.

M&M had recently launched Farming 3.0 platform that will help in taking farm mechanisation to the next level, Goenka said.
The JIVO can be used across multiple applications including crop care, land preparation and inter culture activities, the company said.
Going forward, a 20 HP two-wheel drive product has been planned on the JIVO platform, which will be launched around September 2017, it added.
