The girl, a student of Mudially Girls' High School, was hit from behind by an autorickshaw when she washeading towards her examination centre at Badartala Madhyamik Balika Vidyalaya in Garden Reach Police Station limits, he said.
The girl was rushed to a nearby medical facility where she was admitted, the officer added.
Later, she was allowed to appear for the examination on special ground by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, which conducts the tests in the state.
The girl along with her mother had taken an autorickshaw for the examination centre at Tollygunge and left the bag containing her admit card, a police officer said.
"On reaching the examination centre she realised her mistake and immediately reported the matter to a nearby police outpost which quickly informed the Tollygunge Traffic Guard," he said.
Traffic sergeant Suman Saha tracked the auto and found it near Tollygunge tram Depot. He took the bag containing the admit card, rushed to the examination centre and handed it over to the girl to appear for the examination on time, he added.
