Maggi controversy finds mention in Bengal Assembly

The controversy relating to Maggi instant noodles manufactured by Swiss company Nestle found mention in the West Bengal Assembly today.
During the calling attention session, SUCI member Tarun Naskar said he would like to the draw the notice of the state government and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that sale of Maggi should be suspended in the state following reports that it was not safe for consumption.
Since it was mostly consumed by children, the government should act on it, he added.
