Speaking at a meeting of state office-bearers for the first time since he took over earlier this month, Chavan said he had taken over the reins of the state unit at a time when the road ahead was full of challenges.
"I need co-operation and support of each and every office- bearer to revive the party," he said.
Chavan said the process of organisational rebuilding was being worked on in districts, where the party was weak, while in districts where it was strong, new generation of leadership would be created.
