Maha govt asks all depts to ensure MLAs/MLCs get GR copies

Maharashtra Government today asked all its departments to ensure that copies of Government Resolutions (GRs) and decisions are dispatched to all the political party leaders, members of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
All departments, including Divisional Commissioners, District collectors, Zilla Parishad (ZP) CEOs, secretaries of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Chief Secretary's office, have been informed that the directives be implemented strictly.
"If a breach of privilege is moved in the legislature, the responsibility will be fixed on the officer of the concerned department," a GR issued here by the General Administration Department, today said.
The GR noted that despite the instructions, government departments have not been following them.

"GRs and decisions copies should be sent to MLAs and MLCs without fail. Otherwise, responsibility of breach of privilege moved by members in the legislature will be entirely on the officer of the concerned department," the GR said.
