The Maharashtra Cabinet on Wednesday raised the monthly honorarium given to senior litterateurs and artists by one-and-half times, a move set to benefit 26,000 beneficiaries.
Till now, the artists in 'A', 'B' and 'C' categories were receiving monthly payout of Rs 2100, Rs 1800 and Rs 1500, respectively, which will now go up to Rs 3150, Rs 2700 and Rs 2250, an official statement said.
