The rain may have damaged standing crops, district officials said.
Asruba K Gaikwad and Sushila S Kumbhar died at Kavthali village in Parli tehsil when they were harvesting wheat crop. The third casualty took place at Yevata village in Kej tehsil where Omkar Nirmal died on the spot after being struck by lightning, Beed district police said.
Parts of the district including Parli and Majalgaon tehsils today received unseasonal showers.
Strong winds blew off tin roofs of houses in many places while crops of tur, jowar, bajra and wheat were expected to be damaged, officials of district disaster management cell said.
