Mahant of Ayodhya's Maniram Chawni temple found murdered

A priest associated with Maniram Das Chawni temple, city's largest and richest temple complex, was today found murdered on the premises, police said.
45-year-old Mahant Vijay Ram Das was the priest of Ganga Bhawan temple, part of Maniram Das Chawni temple trust.
He was found dead in his room built in the temple premises.
Faizabad Senior Superintendent of Police K B Singh told PTI that a case has been registered against unknown persons and a special team of Crime Branch will probe it for speedy investigation.
This is the fourth Mahant to be murdered in a year. The previous killings have turned out to be connected with temple's wealth and temple's official chair of chief priest, police sources said.
