Maharashtra CM in talks with Accenture to create smart cities

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, who is in Davos attending the World Economic Forum (WEF), held talks with officials of a global consultancy firm to set up "smart cities" in the state.
Chavan had detailed discussions (with the officials of Accenture) on having a strong implementation machinery to create good cities, a statement from Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office said here today.
He deliberated on how to implement the model of smart cities in Hinjewadi (Pune) and the Bidkin-Shendra belt in Aurangabad as well as the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor.
The statement said that Accenture officials expressed interest in the proposal and told the Chief Minister that the company's focus would be to improve the environment, standard of living and administration of cities.
