Maid from North East commits suicide

A 20-year-old maid from the northeast allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at her employer's residence in Kirti Nagar area of west Delhi, police said today.
According to police, they recovered a purported suicide note from the body of Dhunita Munda who was found hanging on Friday.
"In her suicide note, Dhunita, who belonged to Assam, has not mentioned any reason behind her taking the extreme step. She had been working as a maid at her employer's house for the last six months," said a senior police officer.
Munda lost her parents a few years ago and had been brought to Delhi by her female friend from her hometown who too works as a maid in the same area.

The officer also said that police also interrogated her employer who is a businessman, adding there was no indication that she was mistreated by him and his wife.
