Main accused in triple murder case surrenders in local court

The main accused, in the alleged killing of three persons over a land dispute of Nathapurva village, today surrendered in local court here, police said.
Village head Ramdas surrendered before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) amid tight security and has been sent behind bars, SSP Kanpur K Emanuel said.
The police will now seek remand of the accused from the court for further interrogation, he said.
This is the second arrest made in the case. Police arrested the first accused Shri Krishna yesterday.
Four others, who have been booked, are still absconding. A reward of Rs five thousand has been announced on each of them.
Six police teams have been deployed to nab the culprits and the search is on in nearby areas specially in Unnao and Lucknow, he added.
A clash had occurred between groups of village head Ramdas and Pappu Katre (40) on October 23 when both sides opened fire at each other causing death of latter and Dinesh (38) on the spot and injuring four.
Driver of Ramdas, Suresh Saxena (38) who also received bullet injuries died later raising the toll to three.
The SSP said there was an old dispute between both the groups over a piece of land.
The other four accused will soon be arrested as we have alerted the search teams deployed in the regions, he added.
