Maintain law and order with humane approach in J&K: DGP

Jammu and Kashmir DGP K Rajendra Kumar today asked police officers to adopt a "humane approach" in dealing with law and order problems in the state.
"The maintenance of law and order with humane approach should be our priority to project Jammu and Kashmir police as a modern police force," he said.
The DGP stressed on better deliverance of public services at grassroots level, adding that crimes against women and human rights violations should be attended to on a priority basis.
Rajendra was addressing police officers of Jammu district at a meeting to take stock of professional policing, crime investigation and traffic management here.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers including Superintendents of police, SDPOs and SHOs.
He said that investigating officers should adopt latest scientific methods of investigation to bring the culprits to justice.
The DGP also advised officers to give a patient hearing to grievances of people, adding that quick response to FIRs and investigation on merits would strengthen their image in the eyes of public.
Reviewing traffic management in Jammu city, national highway and other important routes, the DGP said besides strengthening manpower and infrastructure, effective mechanism needs to be adopted to streamline traffic effectively so that the people, particularly students, tourists and pilgrims, do not face inconvenience.
