The case was filed in the court of Judicial Magistrate Bikramdeep Singh under section 499/500 (defamation) of IPC.
In his complaint, Majithia, who is also the grandson of a former Union minister Surjit Singh Majithia and elder brother of Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, rejected the allegation levelled against him by AAP leader Sanjay Singh of having patronised the drug mafia, saying it was baseless.
The court has fixed January 15 for hearing in the case.
Later, Majithia told reporters in the court complex that AAP leaders have the habit of making false allegations against the others just to play to the galleries and obtain cheap publicity.
