Seeking a decisive mandate in the forthcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, a PDP MP rpt MP today asked the people to make the state free from National Conference.
"We seek peoples support to make J-K free from NC. Coming Assembly elections were not just to elect MLAs but to elect a chief minister for this sensitive state," senior PDP leader and MP Tariq Hamid Karra said while addressing a public meeting at Kishtwar, 230-kms from here, today.
"Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during his earlier tenure as Chief Minister of J-K has proved how to deliver good governance to the people by bringing transparency and accountability in the government," he said.
"The state of Jammu and Kashmir is passing through a crucial phase at this juncture because during the last six years the present regime has brazenly dismantled all democratic institutions so there is a need to elect a statesman and a capable leader like Mufti as chief minister to get the state out of the unprecedented crisis," Karra said.
He claimed that it was all due to the wrong policies of the Omar Abdullah-led government that alienation of the people was increasing with every passing day.
Urging people to become part of the on-going movement for change in J-K, Karra said "It would not be fight between individual candidates in their respective constituencies but the elections would provide people of J-K an opportunity to elect Mufti as Chief Minister of this state".
