Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken today accorded a warm felicitation to star players of the Indian Kabaddi team, Surjit Narwal and Nitin Tomar, who helped winning 'Kabaddi World Cup 2016'.
Maken hailing the wonderful contribution of all the players in India's World Cup triumph, said they have spread the name of the country far and wide by winning the World Cup of a traditional sport like Kabaddi, which was a great achievement.
The felicitation function at Mohan Garden in Uttam Nagar area here, was also presided over by senior Congress leader and ex-MLA Mukesh Sharma.
The two players expressed their gratitude for felicitating them in such an impressive manner, which they said they would cherish for ever.
In a statement issued from Congress state office also said that both of them said they would strive harder to bring more laurels to the county.
The statement states that a traditional sport like kabaddi and the kabaddi players should also get financial rewards like cricketers which will give a big moral boost to the players, and help them improve their performances.
Addressing the large gathering, Maken said the condition of Delhi has worsened in every respect after Aam Aadmi Party came to power in Delhi, the statement added.
