Asmita Nikam of the district disaster management cell said the ghat road which connects Thane with Pune would remain closed for at least three to five days as the debris was being removed.
A truck, passing through the ghat, fell into a gorge when its driver Sher Ali (40) tried to evade boulders lying on the road after the landslide.
While Ali was killed on the spot, Anil Adgale (30), his assistant, was severely injured and hospitalised.
The body was fished out but is yet to be identified.
