Man accused of raping minor in J-K arrested from New Delhi

A 55-year-old man, accused of allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, has been arrested from New Delhi, police said today.
The Poonch police has arrested Mohd Latif, resident of Salwah Mendhar, was trying to leave the country, they said.
A case was registered on October 10 when a written complaint was lodged in Mendhar police station by a family from Salwa village who complained that their daughter has been raped and her objectionable video has also been circulated by the accused, the police said.
On the basis of the complaint, a case under relevant sections was lodged in the police station and apolice team, headed by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Mendhar Reyaz Tantray, started an investigation and a manhunt was launched to nab the accused, they said.
An input was received by the police that the accused is present in Delhi and can make an attempt to move to an Arab country, they said.
Acting on the information, the Poonch police informed the immigration section and the Passport Office and a special team was formed who nabbed the accused from Turaqmaan Gate in Delhi.
"The accused has now been brought to Mendhar while further investigation by a team is going on", Tantray said.
