A fast food seller, who hails from Bihar, has been arrested in Jajpur district for his alleged involvement in an inter-state fake currency racket, the police said today.
The man has been identified as Amarjeet Sahni, a resident of Pabara village under Begu Sarai district of Bihar.
A special team of Jajpur district intelligence bureau nabbed him from Dolipur area under Jajpur Road police station limits while he was selling fast food yesterday, Jajpur SP Anup Kumar Sahu said.
Based on the information provided by Bihar police, Jajpur district police had formed a special team and had kept an eye on Amarjeet for some time.
Police said Amarjeet was allegedly a member of an inter-state fake currency racket and had been declared absconder by the Bihar police earlier.
"Amarjeet had left Bihar to evade arrest. He was in hiding in Dolipur and was selling fast food for the last four months," the SP said.
The police suspect Amarjeet of having links with terror groups and are interrogating him at the Jajpur Road police station.
Bihar police were on their way to Jajpur to take Amarjeet in their custody in connection with the pending cases against him there, the police said.
