Man arrested for allegedly harassing a school principal

A 25-year-old man from Tarapur in the district was arrested by the district rural police for allegedly molesting a school principal, a police official said here today.
Police sub-inspector S N Markad of the Tarapur police station told PTI that the arrested man, whose name has not been revealed by the police, used to frequently visit the school and sit in a nearby place for hours together.
The school principal who is around 28-year-old, alleged that between June 18 and June 22, he followed her from the school to a bus stand and to the railway station.
She alleged that he also told her that he loved her and also wanted her to say that she loved him.

Her complaint alleged that the accused had threatened that he would commit suicide and even went to the railway track when a train was approaching, if she did not accept his proposal.
Thus, she was forced to says that she loved him.

Her complaint alleged her that the accused frequently called her up asked her to come with him for a "honeymoon", failing which he threatened to "expose" their "relations" to her to her husband.
Incidentally, the accused happens to be the husband of a teacher working in the same school, the police official said.
The accused has been booked under Section 354(2)(a)(d) and Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code, the police official said, adding that further investigations are on.
