Man arrested for beating up 4-year-old daughter

In a shocking incident, a four-year-old girl was admitted to hospital with serious injuries caused by brutal beating by her father, who was arrested here today, police said.
Sanofar (35) was arrested after neighbours complained of the cruelty to which girl had been frequently subjected to by her father.
According to police, on interrogation, the girl's mother admitted that her husband used to frequently beat the child.
The girl has suffered injuries all over her body including a deep cut near one of the eyes, sources said.
She was first taken to the District Hospital here but later shifted to Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram as doctors suspected internal injuries.

In a similar case in Idukki district last month, a five-year-old-boy was hospitalised after being brutally tortured by his father and step mother. Both were arrested and charged with attempt to murder.
