A 31-year-old Nepali man has been arrested here for cheating people in the pretext of sending them to Europe for lucrative jobs, police said.
Navin Kumar Chaudhary took people to India with the promise to send them abroad and ran away after making money, police said.
Chaudhary ran away after making Rs 5.15 million cash from people with the promise of sending them to Europe, according to the police.
However, police later arrested him in Tokha Municipality of Kathmandu district and said that legal action is being initiated against him after taking him into custody.
In a separate incident, four persons have been arrested from Parsa district in southern Nepal in possession with a huge quantity of hashish.
Twenty one-year-old Ramesh Lamichhane and his three accomplishes have been arrested along with 120 kg of hashish from Birgunj Municipality in Parsa district on Wednesday, police said Thursday.
The police arrested them during a security check while they were heading towards Sarlahi district situated near Indian border.
The police have initiated legal action against them in connection with drugs trafficking.
