Man arrested for involvement in child trafficking racket

One person has been arrested from south Kolkata for his alleged involvement in the international child trafficking racket in which three persons including a couple were arrested earlier, police said today.
Sanjoy Dixit (50) of Haridevpur was arrested from his Marquis Street office yesterday for his involvement in case of international minor girls trafficking racket, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
"Sanjoy was running a travel agency near the residence of Sajid arrested earlier in the case. He was fully aware of Sajid's plans for trafficking purpose. It was Sanjoy who had helped in getting the passports of the twin daughters of Sajid," the officer said.

During the raid three CPUs and three hard disks were seized from Dixit's office along with some other incriminating documents, he said.
Dixit was produced at a city court which remanded him to police custody till July 11.
Kolkata Police had on Monday arrested Sajid Khan Pathan (40), his wife Parveen (35) and another Asad Omar (41) for allegedly trafficking minor girls to countries like the US and Mexico.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Sajid and Parveen, who are having two minor twin daughters, had fabricated identity documents of minor girls to resemble their daughters.
Then they used the passports of their daughters to send those girls in batches of two to USA and Mexico.

Records suggest that they have undertaken three journeys from India to US and Mexico in last one year.
