Ghanshyam (36), an auto-rickshaw driver, was arrested last night on the charge of murder, DCP (Southwest) Surender Kumar said.
During interrogation, Ghanshyam told police that he strongly disliked Dimple (30) frequenting his house and getting close to his daughter, an official privy to the investigation said.
Dimple had separated from her husband around four years ago and lived alone in a rented room at Bindapur.
She has an eight-year-old daughter who lives with a relative in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The deceased made a living here providing hospitality services through a classified website.
Ghanshyam had serious issues with Dimple's extravagant lifestyle and was concerned about her influence on his wife and daughter, he added.
According to police, Ghanshyam strangled Dimple using a wire and stashed her body in the bed box in her room on April 23.
