A 38-year-old man was arrested for marrying a woman by giving false information about his marital status, police said today.

The accused, Atul Kumar Tomar, had posted on a matrimonial website that he was a software engineer based in Gurgaon and earned Rs 30 lakh a year, they said.

The woman on May 31 lodged a complaint in which she said she came in contact with Tomar in May last year through a matrimonial site, police said.

She got married to Tomar in July 2016, according to the complaint.

Later, she came to know that he was already married and had two children. Thereafter, the accused left her, police said.

They said when a police team reached Gurgaon as told by the complainant, it was found that he was a resident of Ghaziabad.

But, he was not found there. It was found that he had given his Ghaziabad house on rent and had shifted to Noida along with his family two years ago, they said.

The woman said the accused once told her that he wanted to develop his own company called Buck Eye Soft Ltd, police said.

The name of this company was searched and Tomar was one of the directors, they said.

Further, a savings account was also found in the name of the company. Thereafter, the team visited the bank from where the police team got the details of the accused, they said
