Man arrested for molesting minor daughter

A 45-year-old man was arrested here for allegedly molesting his minor daughter in an inebriated state here, police said today.
The 14-year-old girl along with her relatives approached the Child Line office, an NGO for children, yesterday which produced her before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Dinesh Sharma, Coordinator of Child Line Kota said.
The victim said her father came home drunk on Thursday night and molested her while she was asleep in her room with her younger sister, Sharma said.
The committe, along with the girl, approached the police and lodged a case against Suresh Mahawar (45), a resident of Hariomnagar area of Kota city, under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act. Mahawar was arrested last evening after that, Circle in-charge (CI) of Mahaveernagar police station Kaluram Verma said.

The Committee also sent the victim to a girls' shelter home, Sharma said.
The accused works as a daily-wage laburer and investigation into the matter is underway, Verma said.
