Bhupender, a resident of Jhajjar district in the neighbouring state, was found murdered by Haryana police in Pada village of Manesar in Gurgaon on March 19, they said.
A case was registered by the Kapashera police after the victim's younger brother Narender told police that he had gone to meet his cousin Rakesh in Bijwasan area in Delhi, who was also his (Bhupender's) partner in a property business.
"During investigation, Rakesh was found absconding from his address and also evaded arrest by changing place frequently even as the cops tried catch him", R A Sanjiv, DCP (South West District) said.
Rakesh is alleged to have killed Bhupender with an axe over a dispute related with the property business. The weapon as well as the vehicle used to dispose off the victim's body was recovered in Kapshera area, police said.
During interrogation, Rakesh said he had started the property business with Bhupender but they had some dispute over money.
"Rakesh developed a strong grudge and decided to eliminate Bhupender and finally he got the chance when he came to meet him. He killed Bhupender with an axe, loaded the body in his vehicle and dumped it in Manesar on the night of March 18, the officer added.
