The accused Vinod, a resident of Uttarakhand, killed the rickshaw puller who was sleeping on it by beating him with a thick stick last night. During interrogation he changed his statements many times and once claimed that he committed the ghastly murder on the commands of spirits that visited him in his dreams, said a police officer.
He also claimed during questioning that he blindly followed instructions of the spirits or they would kill him instead.
The cops caught him with the help of locals as he was trying to flee from the spot.
Vinod also claimed to have killed another person by hitting him with a stone and his claim is being verified, said the officer.
