Acting on a tip-off, Umesh Mallick (38) was arrested from the Mallick Ghat Flower Market in North Port police station limits after 940 small packets containing the banned narcotic were seized from him this morning, a Kolkata Police officer said.
Cash amounting to Rs 15,240 was also recovered from him, he added.
"The money possibly is the amount he had received selling some more packets to customers who fled during our raid there. We are looking into the matter," he said.
Mallick, who will be taken to court tomorrow, has been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
