Man arrested for raping mentally challenged girl

A man was today arrested for allegedly raping an eight-year-old mentally challenged girl here, police said.
Ramesh had taken the girl to his house and allegedly raped her last night.
The girl's mother lodged a complaint with police following which a case was registered under the Protection of Children from Physical Offences Act-2012 and Ramesh was arrested, Inspector Lakshmanakumar said.
