The 16-year-old girl had come from Tiruchendur to participate in a local festival and was staying at her elder sister's house. On June 19, she was sleeping at home after her sister went to a hospital when the man barged in and raped her, they said.
The girl raised an alarm following which he fled from the spot. Acting on her complaint, a case was registered and the man arrested and remanded in 15 days judicial custody, police said.
