Man arrested for taking bribe to use 'influence' with ACB

Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau today arrested a person here for allegedly taking Rs 10 lakh from a government employee accused of amassing disproportionate assets.
Amit Khetawath, a resident of Kondapur here, was apprehended at a shopping mall here this evening when he accepted Rs 10 lakh from a district inspector working with the Legal Metrology Department.
Khetwath had promised to use his personal influence with ACB officers to ensure that no action was taken on a petition accusing the complainant of possessing disproportionate assets. For this, he had demanded Rs 10 lakh.
Further probe was on, said the Deputy Director, ACB, Umamaheshwar Sarma.
