Police asid the man picked up a quarrel with some of the students near Government College of Technology, suddenly whipped out a 'pistol' and threatened to shoot dead one of them.
However, the students managed to escape and lodged a complaint with police, who rushed to the spot and nabbed him.
An examination of the 'pistol' showed it was fake and he was later produced before a court and lodged in the central jail here, they said
