Raj Kumar, a resident of RS Pura, was arrested yesterday after his car was intercepted at a surprise check point there, a police officer said.
He said that 25 kg of poppy straw stuffed in gunny bags was recovered during search of the vehicle.
The accused was arrested on the spot and cases under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against him, the official said.
