Man arrested with fake notes with face value of Rs 10 lakh

Police today arrested an autorickshaw driver and seized fake notes with a face value of Rs 10.03 lakh, Varnama police inspector HP Parmar said.

He said that the counterfeit notes recovered from auto driver Abid Idris Mohammad Pathan comprised 1,652 notes of Rs 500 denomination, 77 of Rs 2000 denomination and the remaining of Rs 100 denomination.

He was caught while trying to carry out a transaction with a fake Rs 500 note at a shop near Kelanpur railway station here.

He informed that further investigations were underway.
