Man axed to death by son

In a shocking incident, a man was axed to death by his son in Bihar's Madhepura district today, a police officer said.
The incident took place in Bhimpura village as the accused son Dhirendra Sharma attacked his father Dev Narayan Sharma from behind with an axe while the latter was cutting bamboos in a field, Bharahi additional police station in-charge Rajesh Chaudhary said.
Sharma (55) died on the spot due to multiple injuries, he said, adding the accused son escaped from the spot.
Family-related disputes were stated to be motive behind the fatal incident, the police officer said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and raids were being carried out to nab the culprit, he said.
