Labourer Golu Lallan Jaiswar was brutally killed by four other labourers with whom he lived at a house in Kalyan, senior police inspector at Kolsewadi S L Daule said quoting a complaint filed yesterday by the deceased's brother.
Golu was allegedly tied to a pole in the house and then beaten to death. The accused, all hailing from the same village in Uttar Pradesh to which the deceased belonged, also smashed the victim's head with a huge stone, he said.
The exact time and date of the killing was not known, but it is believed that the murder took place 2-3 days back.
An offence under sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) read with 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused, police added.
