The couple, hailing from Madhya Pradesh, were employees of different tech firms here. They were returning home on September 17 night after celebrating Ganesha Chathurti at a friend's place with the woman riding pillion when the mishap occurred at Devarabeesanahalli flyover, police said.
A senior police official who did not wish to be named said the two-wheeler rider was booked for negligent driving but only a probe would reveal whether the mishap had taken place due to this reason or because of road conditions, mechanical defect of the bike or any other external factor.
They also said there have been several cases where a close relative of the deceased, who was riding the vehicle have been booked, but not charge-sheeted if found not at fault.
