Man booked for practising witchcraft on wife

A 33-year-old man from Vitthalwadi in Ulhasnagar township here has been booked for allegedly practising witchcraft on his wife, police said today.
PI V K Rathod of Vitthalwadi police station told PTI that the offence was registered yesterday against Roopesh Pawar under section 30 of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013 by Nerul police which was subsequently transferred to them.
According to the complaint of the victim, Pooja Pawar (24) her husband used to practise black magic on her and also narrate her ghost stories besides forcing her to behave in a ghostly manner.
The incident took place in Nerul between November and December 2014. The couple are residents of Vitthalwadi, police said.
No arrests have been made so far, they said adding investigations were underway.
