Security officials were thrown into a tizzy when a man called up the police control room this evening threatening to "blow up" the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The call was received around 6.30 PM, following which several teams, along with bomb disposal squads, were rushed to the premises of the President's Estate.
"We are conducting a thorough check and efforts are on to track down the caller who threatened to blow up the Rashtrapati Bhavan," DCP (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal said.

Around half-an-hour before the threat call was made, a similar call was received by the control room.
In the other call received around 6 PM, a man threatened to have "planted bombs" at certain locations in central Delhi, DCP (Central) Parmaditya said.
The caller asked for the personal number of former city police commissioner B S Bassi. When refused, he started demanding that he be connected to Bassi directly. But, when the operator refused to do so, he threatened that he has planted bombs.
"A thorough search was conducted and the threat turned out to be hoax," Parmaditya said.
The caller was traced to west Delhi's Sagarpur area and later questioned over phone. He told police that he was agitated after having a heated exchange with his wife following which he made the call.
A team has been sent to detain him for further questioning.
