Man commits suicide by jumping into canal

A 31-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a canal at Gautampuri in Seelampur area of North-East Delhi today, police said.
According to police, a PCR call about the incident was received at around 8 am after which police informed the fire department and divers were sent to the spot.
The divers took three hours to bring the youth out of the canal. He was rushed to a nearby government hospital where he was declared brought dead, police said.
The deceased was yet to be identified and his body has been kept in the mortuary of GTB Hospital, police said.
