According to police, Prem Singh, wanted in a robbery case in Sarita Vihar, was arrested on Thursday night. Two stolen bikes were also recovered from his possession.
"There has been a rise in auto theft cases in Jaitpur and other neighboring areas in Delhi. It was found that Singh, wanted in Sarita Vihar robbery case, has been indulging in these thefts," said a police official.
Due to Singh's frequently changing his location, he remained untraceable. However, a honey trap was laid with the help of a woman constable as soon as it came to light that he is a womanizer, he said.
During interrogation, Singh allegedly told police that he was also involved in snatching and robbery. He usually snatched mobile phones on main roads and sold them to passersby for Rs 500-600, especially to those living in slum clusters, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) P Karunakaran.
