A Lancaster County judge sentenced 21-year-old Gregory Orrostieta today to the maximum possible penalty.
He was convicted in May of third-degree murder in the death of Millersville University freshman Karlie Hall in February 2015.
Orrostieta told authorities he got into a fight with her over spilled noodles, but he said she had been drinking and fell and hit her head.
Prosecutors say he beat and strangled her.
Orrostieta was found trying to administer CPR to Hall after calling 911, but authorities say he was faking that and she had been dead for hours.
