The deceased, identified as Vishwakarma Mehto, is a resident of Baghdola village in Dwarka sub-city. He was riding his motorbike allegedly in an inebriated state when the mishap occurred, said a senior police official.
According to police, the incident was reported around 7 PM when Mehto lost control over his motorbike and fell down.
When the passersby rushed to help him, they realised that Mehto was drunk and suggested him not to continue riding. He was also suggested to wear his helmet, which was locked beside the pillion seat.
The driver of the truck abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. He is still at large. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC and are trying to track the truck's owner, said DCP (southwest) R A Sanjeev.
The deceased's family has been informed about the incident and the truck impounded by the police, he added.
