'Vellai' Murugan was arrested recently after city police during a raid seized over 2,010 DVDs, including those of recently released Tamil and English films and seven DVD writing machines among other accessories from a house at Manali.
Investigation revealed that Murugan has earlier been arrested on the similar charge by Vannarapettai Police on June 10 last year and sent to prison, they said.
On the orders of Chennai Police Commissioner S George, Murugan was detained under the Goondas Act. He has been lodged in the Puzhal Central Prison.
