Sujit Nieogi (25) of Bibadipally area under the jurisdiction of Shantipur police station was in love with a woman of Radhanagar area, the local people said.
The woman recently starting avoiding Sujit as she was having a love affair with another man, the locals alleged.
The family members Sujit claimed that he went into depression as his lover was avoiding him and seeing a new boyfriend. He consumed pesticide on Sunday to commit suicide.
Sujit died today at the Kalyani JNM hospital after which the local people of his locality demonstrated before the house of his lover alleging that she was responsible for his death, police said.
