Man dies after drinking water from public container

A man today died after drinking contaminated water from a public water container here where a month-long 'Sawani Mela' is underway, police said.
A rickshaw-puller, identified as Manoj Mandal, was rushed to hospital as he fell sick after drinking water from one of the twelve containers placed in the town, Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar told reporters here.
He died in the hospital, he said, adding sample from the container was sent for test.
The containers were placed in different areas in the pilgrim town as part of arrangements for the festival month as lakhs of devotees visited the famous Baidyanath temple.
