A man remanded in police custody in connection with a case died in a hospital after he complained of uneasiness and was rushed there from the police lock-up, an official said today.
Vidyadhar Kini (46) was arrested by Palghar police yesterday and was remanded in police custody till July 24, he added.
"However, while in the Arnala police station lock-up last night, he complained of uneasiness and was rushed to a local hospital. Doctors there declared him dead on arrival," an official said.
Further investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are underway, the official added.
