Man drowns while immersing ashes of grandmother

: A man met with a watery grave while trying to immerse the urn containing the ashes of his grandmother at Bhavani river at Mettupalayam, 40 km from here today, police said.
The tragic incident shocked his 12 member family who stood helplessly on the river banks watching the man pulled down by undercurrents while performing poojas.
The ill fated victim's grandmother had passed away on September 16.
Fire and rescue service department are trying to locate the body.
