Man gets 11 yrs RI for possessing 24 kg ganja

A court here today sentenced a man from Bihar to 11 years' rigorous imprisonment (RI) for illegally possessing around 24 kg of ganja.
Convicting the man under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Cuttack district sessions judge S N Mishra also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh on him. He would have to undergo additional RI for year if he failed to pay up the fine.
The convict, Roshan Kumar, was arrested by GRP at Cuttack railway station on April 1, 2015, with the contraband when he was waiting to board a New Delhi-bound train.
